MZ SpeakerDesigner comes with an installation program, which unpacks and
copies all files to the desired location and adds the program to the list
of installed programs in the operating system. However, this is done for
user convenience only.
The program itself actually requires no installation to run. It uses only standard API functions, which exist since the very first 32-bit Windows operating system (Windows NT in 1993). There are no additional libraries which have to be copied into the system directory, no registry keys to be set nor any other operating system modifications required. Therefore the exe file can be copied on a CD or a file server and then be executed from any computer with a Windows operating system supporting Unicode. The program stores the current user settings in a separate ini file and not in the registry database. The file is located in the local application data folder, which is strongly operating system dependent. Example: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\MZ\MZ SpeakerDesigner.ini |
